In the classic movie ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ the angel helps George. By doing this good deed he gains his wings. In life I think people gain from doing good deeds too. Instead of gaining wings, we become better people. Which is just as rewarding. The way I see it is that good deeds help bring back faith in humanity, it helps tip the balance of good and bad and in our favour.
A couple of days ago coming back from Atlanta I was in the bathroom of the airport. An elderly lady had gotten herself stuck inside one of the cubicles. A few people were trying to unlock the door from the outside but to no avail. I offered to slide under the gap beneath the door to unlock the door for her. I did so and she was extremely grateful and we had a laugh about the whole ordeal. I left to catch my flight and we both continued with our lives.
My point is though, that this was a small deed to do. Simple, yet it made my day to help someone, and I’m sure that lady was thrilled to get out of that bathroom. So today I motivate everyone who comes across this little blog to do a good deed today. Maybe help your little sibling out with their homework, ask a lost looking tourist if they need help, or assist someone and carry their grocery’s for them.

I’d love to know if anyone of ye end up doing a good deed today, or if you’ve done one in the past that made you happy. Let me know! 🙂
