I love watching favourite videos online. I enjoy listening to others telling me what makes them happy, and seeing things that I might take pleasure in as well. I’ve often toyed with the idea of doing a favourites blog, each month hoping to find new things I’ve bought or that make me significantly happy that particular month that I could include. But I never manage to do it, and the month passes and I forget to write my list. Instead I’m going to try and put a different style on this. This blog won’t technically be a favourites blog from a particular month, instead it will be a list of my favourite things. Not overly creative or original but still enjoyable (I hope!) to read all the same.
Car Journeys- I love being in a car and watching the changing landscape or seeing people go about their day. I’m honestly the worst companion for car rides because I become lost in my own world and zone out, either through listening to music or going over my thoughts. I don’t know why, but I turn into zero craic. An antidote that shows a reason for my love of car journeys is when my friend and I were driving along a stretch of road, it was during the heatwave of early June this year (do yeah remember that? Absolute scorcher) and we were melting in the car. We rolled down ever window in the car and turned up the music . I stuck my arm out and I felt utterly at bliss feeling the sensation of the rushing wind and the noise of it filling the car and my lungs.
Notebooks- Hello my name is Catherine and I have an obsession with buying notebooks. I can’t help it. Direct me towards the stationary section of a book shop and every notebook I see becomes prettier than the next. And before you know it, I’m walking out with five of them under my arm. Keep in mind though I’m picky and I only buy the cutest and most eye catching notebooks (but every notebook is beautiful in their own unique way). If makes a consolation to my bank balance, notebooks can be looked at as an investment, they give me a reason to write and a purpose to fill the pages.
Eyeshadows- Maybe not as bad as my need for notebooks but eyeshadow palettes fill me with so much happiness. So many choices in colour, so much prettiness to experiment with. I am still yet to get the holy grail… The Naked Palette (*angels sing*) and yes everyone has one at this stage, and they will probably go out of fashion soon BUT I will buy one at some point.
Physical Photos-Finally my last favourite thing are photos. But not the filtered, cropped and uploaded to Instagram kind, I mean the kind that you can hold and zoom in to by bringing it closer to your face. I love scrap booking these memories and capturing them. I’ve done this for years and I’m so thankful I have. If you’ve ever been meaning to do it, put it at the top of your list.
(Helpful hint! I find Snapfish a great and cheap website)
