35 things I want to do in 1001 days

I saw someone else do this sort of list on their blog and I loved it. I find it so fascinating to hear what other people want to achieve in their lives, so hopefully you do too!

A 1001 days from now I will have just celebrated my twenty-fourth birthday.

I probably will keep updating this list along the way, but for now, here is what I have so far:

Personal

  1. Create a rainy day money fund and don’t touch it. Not even for travelling.
  2. Donate your hair (I’ve wanted to do this for years and I’m currently in the process of growing it. This time round I’m very determined.)
  3. Pass my driving test (dear God before I’m 24) ***
  4. Improve my public speaking abilities (or lack thereof)
  5. Donate blood
  6. Brush up on my Irish and become confident in speaking it
  7. Do a pilgrim walk like Camino de Santiago for mindfulness and reflective purposes

Travel

  1. Visit Canada
  2. Edinburgh
  3. Budapest
  4. Greece
  5. Croatia
  6. Italy
  7. Spain (again)
  8. A weekend in Cobh (Cork)
  9. Live in another country again

Creative/ Educational

  1. Pick up drawing/ painting as a hobby again
  2. Read 50 books in one year (35 is your record so far)
  3. Do a Masters in Journalism (I swore I would never do a Masters because stress. But I think Finishing College Crisis Mode™ is kicking in and doing a Masters at some point is starting to look appealing)
  4. Make a vision board
  5. Do a course in Creative Writing

Professional/ Work

  1. Build up your contacts within the journalism sector and get a job/ freelance
  2. Try out teaching English in a foreign country

Health

  1. Learn meditation
  2. Go back to doing yoga classes (but only when you can afford that kind of lifestyle)
  3. Continue to eat less meat and learn more veggie recipes

Online/ Blogging

  1. Go on a week long screen detox
  2. Reach 1,000 followers on your blog (I’ve never set out to have followers on this blog, but since we’re here we might as well try and be ambitious)

Just Beacause

  1. Do a stint of working in a bookshop
  2. Walk up Mount Brandon with Dad
  3. Go for drinks in the Vintage Cocktail Club in Dublin
  4. Get your fortune read
  5. Go on a Tinder date (ahaha are you laughing as much as I am that this is on the list)
  6. Volunteer at a dog shelter
  7. Eat at a Michelin Star restaurant
